My appraisal was higher than I thought but that could be a good thing.Mr.George was very nice and friendly and likable.
Appraisal was very low, comparables weren't even close. $35k below zillow & redfin that weren't even accounting for the almost $100k in additions, landscaping and improvements. The appraisal closer to $100k below value. Plus I was charged more than quoted.
I asked him to get it done in 2 weeks, if he could I would give him the job. Weeks went by, didnt hear back, out of blue a month later, he said he is working on it. Still no response, texted him, for every 5 or so texts, would not get one in return. Overall it was a terrible experience. We needed this for legal reasons and he knew that. It was a time sensitive situation, he never did the work. After 3 or 4 months, I got my money back and Im content to get my money back.
My case was simple I had an appraisal done several months ago from another company but I was uncertain if a new one and still is necessary as I am going through a mediation divorce. So via by phone after further discussion with Jay he highly was confident the value of my home and being very familiar with the area would be higher especially with the addition of my home improvements that were made. I was very disappointed in the way a value was reached. I viewed all of the properties that were listed as comparable and saw very little in comparison to our property. I do not think that making a comparison to other properties is a fair and just way of valuing a property. Properties should be valued on the merits of that property not a properties sale that may not have features of similair qualities
Took careful notes during on-site visit, then called back for same information. Had to be prompted to complete project. Final report was ok. Price agreed on was same as others.
